    Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort Position Description

    POSITION TITLE: Casino Cocktail Server

    DEPARTMENT: Beverage

    GRADE/FLSA STATUS: H5-Non-Exempt

    BADGE TYPE/COLOR: KeyBlue

    REPORTS TO: Supervisor Beverage, D/R Beverage Supervisor

    SUPERVISES: N/A

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Responsible for providing fast, friendly, and courteous service to every customer every time while taking/serving beverage orders

    Creating an entertainment environment for all guests.

    JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Endorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and Values
    • Work in an assigned area, following designated loops and maps
    • Pleasantly and accurately takes beverage orders form guests
    • Provide fast (20 minute or less) round time, friendly, professional beverage service to casino guests; carries full trays on every round
    • Learn the beverage menu and prices Present the beverage order and payment to the bartender in an organized fashion
    • Present the beverage and payment to the guest
    • Will utilize "server banking" to complete alcohol sales
    • Must work special events held throughout the casino and concerts in the Entertainment Center as needed
    • Maintain a clean workstation and tray at all times
    • Able to answer questions about Harrah's facilities, services, and promotions
    • Explain and encourage Caesars Reward participation
    • Provide fast, friendly service to customers
    • Upbeat personality for all interactions with guests and fellow employees
    • Must possess an outgoing personality and attitude to help create a fun, enthusiastic environment for guests
    • Acknowledge and respond to customers immediately
    • Build relationship with guests within the assigned zone.
    • Learn and greet customers by name and learn preferences
    • Invoke service recovery as needed
    • Pick up trash, glasses, and litter in or out of work area
    • Maintain department round time and bar time standards
    • Keep errors to a minimum
    • Seek coaching to improve performance
    • Operate a cash register/POS system, ringing proper amount into the register and give a guest the correct change; accountable for all cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedure; maintains integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities
    • Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines
    • Follow guidelines of the EBCI liquor laws as defined by the Tribal ABC Board and/or NC ABC Commission
    • Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Six months prior customer service experience preferred
    • CARE certified*
    • Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills required
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Willing to learn and be adaptable
    • Attention to detail/observant
    • Documented teamwork behaviors and attitudes
    • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
    • Must be able to complete cash and charge transactions
    • Must be familiar with tray service
    * Will train within the department

    PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
    • Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations
    • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
    • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
    • Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds constantly
    • Must have the ability to frequently reach above and below the shoulder, stand and walk for up to four hours
    • Must be able to possess the manual dexterity to grip necessary items (glasses, pens, garnishments, money, etc.)
    • Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and twist when serving beverages
    • Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including secondhand smoke
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
