    • Requirements:Current and valid license issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
    • Minimum of sixteen (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years performing services similar in scope to those defined herein
    • Must be proficient in the English Language (Speaking/Writing)
    • Responsibilities:The Temporary/Relief Pharmacy Technician, under the supervision of the Pharmacist-in-Charge, Pharmacist, or their designate, will provide services within the permitted scope of practice for a Pharmacy Technician. This will be in compliance with Federal and State laws, as well as the policies and procedures of the institution. The responsibilities and services expected from the Temporary/Relief Pharmacy Technician include, but are not limited to, the following:Receiving prescription/medical orders.
    • Gathering information on new patients/youth to establish their medical profile, including diagnosis, allergies, medical history, and desired therapeutic outcomes.
    • Assessing prescription/medication orders for completeness, correctness, authenticity, and legality.
    • Entering prescription information into the patient/youth profile.
    • Calibrating equipment necessary for preparing or compounding prescription/medication orders.
    • Compounding medications for dispensing based on prescription formulas or instructions.
    • Measuring or counting finished dosage forms for dispensing.
    • Recording the preparation of medication in various dosage forms.
    • Documenting the preparation of controlled substances for dispensing.
    • Packaging the medications appropriately.
    • Preparing and attaching labels and auxiliary labels to containers.
    • Performing intermediate checks during the processing of prescription/medication orders.
    • Maintaining drug and supply inventory, along with inventory records.
    • Delivering medications to clinics/nursing staff and organizing medication accordingly.
    • Reviewing pharmacy stock for expired drugs.
    • Assisting the Pharmacist-in-Charge, Pharmacist, or designate in identifying and resolving problems related to patient/youth therapy.
    • Performing any other duties as assigned.
