    job summary:
    A Senior Project Engineer is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Cedar Rapids, IA area. This role involves leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in developing complex test solutions for avionics, ensuring successful project execution, maintaining quality and budgetary standards, and fostering effective communication and collaboration within a global engineering organization.

    responsibilities:

    • Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers in developing complex engineering solutions.

    • Ensure successful execution of test solution projects from inception to deployment and long-term support.

    • Manage project technical execution and maintain performance metrics for decision-making and continuous improvement.

    • Oversee project scope, ensuring it meets agreed commitments, and manage change requests.

    • Generate and maintain project schedules with dependencies, deliveries, and critical path identified.

    • Utilize Earned Value (EV) methods for managing project budget and schedule.

    • Ensure projects meet quality expectations and identify and resolve risks and opportunities proactively.
    Skills:
    • strong leadership skills and ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships.

    • Sound technical knowledge in systems, mechanical, electrical, or software engineering.

    • Outstanding oral, written, and formal presentation communication skills.

    • Sharp critical thinking approaches and attention to detail.

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively execute multiple active projects.

    • Resilience in the face of adversity and comfort managing projects with intricate scope.
    Education and Experience:
    • Minimum of a STEM degree.

    • Five years of relevant experience, ideally with prior project leadership of multidiscipline engineering teams.
