    Per Diem Occupational Therapist Opportunity


    Rate:
    $60.00

    Must be available to work day shifts as coverage is needed. Ortho/Neuro as needed.


    Summary:


    Under the general supervision of the rehab manager or supervisor, performs therapy examinations, develops treatment plans and goals, and applies interventions in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the profession, applicable state licensure regulations, and hospital policies and procedures to a variety of patients ranging from newborn to geriatric in age, in an outpatient care setting.

    Opportunity for rotation to acute care sites may exist per operational need.


    Responsibilities:


    Performs therapy examinations, develops treatment plans, and establishes treatment goals with patient input utilizing evidence based practice and AOTA recommendations to guide care.

    Provides care to special populations including: Oncology, Lymphedema, Amputee, Spinal Cord Injury, Stroke, Total Joint Replacement, Orthopedic and Neurologic.

    Delegates and supervises patient related tasks to assistants, aides, and support personnel. Supervises students as assigned.

    Collaborates with other disciplines to provide coordinated interdisciplinary patient care.

    Manages time effectively and demonstrates willingness to work a variety of scheduling patterns within individual control hours.


    Makes independent decisions within the scope of defined job description, level of knowledge, skills and abilities but seeks guidance as necessary for performance of duties.

    Meets or exceeds productivity and documentation requirements.

    Accepts and utilizes feedback in a constructive manner and demonstrates respect for others in open and constructive communications.

    Accepts other duties as assigned. Adheres to all department and hospital policies

    Demonstrates flexibility and willingness of a task change and engages in new programming

    Participates as assigned in department quality improvement programs

    Assists with prioritization of patient care

    Contributes to peer review as required

    Supports excellence of the organization and customer satisfaction


    Required:


    Experience delivering comprehensive care in an outpatient setting to patients with physical dysfunction secondary to disability, disease, or injury in accordance with professional standards of practice.

    Experience with diagnoses including low complex medical patients, orthopedic, oncology, and neurological patients.


    Credentials:


    Current license to practice in Connecticut: Successful completion of minimum educational requirements for licensure including all clinical practice and comprehensive examinations.

    Temporary licensure may be considered at the discretion of the department manager.

    New graduates accepted.

    First Aid/CPR/AED

    Master's Level Degree
