    We currently have an immediate opening for a Buyer located in City of Industry, California.


    Job Summary:
    Buyer is responsible for purchasing raw materials used in production. Also responsible for reconciling shortage reports and inventory counts. This role requests price quotations and negotiates best pricing and terms. Buyer follows up with vendors prior to and after placing of orders and anticipated shipping dates. Buyer meets regularly with Production and Planning to review anticipated production and report projected delays in parts deliveries.


    Essential Functions:
    Purchasing

    Source material and prepare Purchase Orders
    Manage ETAs /Reconcile daily receiving reports with schedule of projected deliveries
    Present projected delivery schedule to Operations and Planning
    Primary point of contact with vendors for negotiating and nonconformant deliveries
    Follow up with vendors the day before the orders are to be received to confirm delivery schedule
    Immediately inform production of any delays in deliveries
    Qualify potential new suppliers
    Manage inventory in a manufacturing environment
    Establish and maintain min/max system
    Update the inventory and WIP shortage reports on a daily basis
    Reconcile the shortage reports with the warehouse and production Supervisor
    Follow up with vendors for the replenishment of the shortages
    Update shortage reports to production planner on a daily basis
    Resolve price discrepancies/invoicing issues
    Partner with engineering to source components in R&D
    Communicate quarterly forecasts to vendors
    Attend weekly backlog meetings and provide status updates
    Review the Parts Requisition forms on a daily basis

    Price Reduction

    Obtain quote requests from multiple vendors for components
    Request new quotes from vendors when purchased quantities increase
    Make sure costs of components are updated whenever a price change takes effect with our vendors
    Submit any price change information from vendors to COO and Accounting


    Education and Experience:
    Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Materials Management, Procurement, Operations Management, Business Administration or related field
    2-4 years related experience and/or training
    Or equivalent combination of education and experience
    Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
    Knowledge and experience with Sage or ERP systems a plus
    Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with Excel capabilities


    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
    Full-time

    Hours: 8:30AM to 5:30PM

    (Hours subject to change based on the needs of the business.
