    Description

    Overview - The Mentor Coordinator at each high school is responsible for the training and coordination of the New Educator Mentor Program.

    All first-year educators to District 86 receive a mentor.

    Supervisor - Assistant Superintendent of Academics and Building APIs

    Supervises - All mentors (non-evaluative)

    Compensation - $2250 stipend


    Job Responsibilities:

    • Conducts summer training for all new and experienced mentors
    • Orders and distributes instructional materials for mentors
    • Coordinates mentor/mentee introductions
    • Facilitates quarterly check-in meetings with all mentors at assigned campus.
    • Provides guidance when mentors are struggling with a mentee at assigned campus.
    • Informally observes new educators to support the formal observation process at assigned campus.
    • Coordinates mentor observation schedule and feedback process at assigned campus.
    • Stays up to date on professional literature and research focused on new educator development, instructional coaching, and mentorship
    • Works with D86 Academic Cabinet to improve/revise the Induction Program and the Mentor Program
