    Position Summary

    The IT Technical Associate (Senior Enterprise Storage & Backup Engineer) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the hospital's Enterprise on-premises and hybrid storage solutions which consists of NetApp's file storage, AWS object storage, and block storage including storage frames and switches, and implement redundant configurations. Additionally, responsible for Veeam Data Platform including Veeam's orchestrator methodologies across all storage and virtualized environments, as well as documentation and reporting on performance and capacities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in on-premises storage, cloud storage technologies, backup/restore processes, disaster recovery orchestrator and strategies and with experience in healthcare or similarly regulated environments. Provides documentation that defines the technology and monitors progress to ensure the quality and performance metrics are met. Must be knowledgeable of VMware technologies. Also responsible for implementing security measures to safeguard stored data.

    Duties & Responsibilities
    • Design, implement, and manage comprehensive storage solutions (block, file, object) to achieve organizational RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective) goals.
    • Expertise in NetApp technologies (RAID, SAN, NAS, storage virtualization), ensuring optimal system performance.
    • Expertise in Veeam backup/recovery strategies across diverse systems and data types, aligning with strict RTO/RPO requirements.
    • Proficient in VMware virtualization technologies (computing and storage) to ensure seamless data backups.
    • Oversee SAN, NAS, and storage virtualization for enterprise-wide data storage needs.
    • Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery resources, processes, and infrastructure.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate backup operations with virtualized environments.
    • Analyze, recommend, and implement cost-effective solutions for storage and backups.
    • Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud and on-premises storage, networking, and systems.
    • Monitor system health, proactively addressing performance bottlenecks and optimizing efficiency.
    • Work with security personnel to enforce robust security practices for storage, backup, and network infrastructure.
    • Regularly perform backup testing and disaster recovery simulations to evaluate solution effectiveness.
    • Author thorough technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
    • Stay updated on industry advancements, sharing knowledge and insights with team members.
    • Adhere to strict change management protocols.
    • Provide 24x7 on-call operational support.
    • Support and maintain on-site IT systems.
    • Effectively communicate status, initiatives, updates, and issues to relevant stakeholders.
    • Perform other duties as needed.
    • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
    Minimum Qualifications
    1. Bachelor Degree - Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, related information management field or a clinical area of study.
    2. Minimum of four (4) years professional level IT experience within Database Design and Administration which includes; Demonstrated experience in the design implementation, maintenance, monitoring, performance analysis, trouble shooting, problem resolution, and user assistance required of the database environments or related Clinical Experience.
    This position requires Illinois residency within 180 days of the hire date.

    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Demonstrated knowledge and experience as a SAN Administrator or Storage Specialist.
