    Description

    We are searching for an experienced Service Call Technician as a full-time employee at the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD), formerly the Reedy Creek Improvement District (RCID) In this full-time on-site role, you will be responsible for performing inspections, non-emergency alarm system checks, sprinkler system shutdown, and refills, including both scheduled and emergency and various other calls for service. Work is performed under general supervision and reviewed through feedback, performance, and reports.

    • This position will require variable rotating shift work including overnight shifts, holidays, weekends and overtime when needed. The work schedule is subject to change to meet the Department's needs.

    Essential Functions:

    • Perform planned hot work inspections, non-emergency alarm system checks, sprinkler system shutdown and refills, including both scheduled and emergency calls for service (as assigned by supervision).
    • Manage moderate to high call volume on radio phone and schedule or reschedule service calls as needed.
    • Retrieve inspections, and provide data entry into the District's provided software program.
    • Establish minimum requirements for fire watches when fire alarm system impairments are found, and removing fire watches after repairs are made.

    Qualifications:

    • Must be a High School graduate or possess a GED acceptable to the District.
    • Experience in fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, security or industrial safety industry or related field is required, two (2) years related experience preferred.
    • Employee will be required to complete training courses relevant to job tasks.
    • Regular, dependable attendance required.
    • Obtain and have ability to maintain NICET I Certification (Inspection, Testing & Maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems) within one (1) year from date of hire preferred.
    • As a condition of continued employment, employee must obtain and have ability to maintain the Fire and Burglar Alarm Systems Agent (FASA/BASA) Certification within one (1) year from date of hire.
    • Must possess a valid Florida State Driver's license and maintain eligibility under the District's commercial vehicle program
