- Per G.S c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.
- Direct Patient Care which includes H&P's, rounds, ordering and reviewing labs, EKG's and imaging.
- Generating medical treatment plans and collaborating with multidiscipline treatment team members.
- Assisting with policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all accrediting bodies.
- Participation in a call rotation to provide clinical coverage on nights and weekends.
- Provides supervision of physician extenders and teaching of residents and students.

Jones Center:
The Walter B.
Jones Center operates two adult inpatient treatment programs on site in Greenville, NC:
(1) Woodside Treatment Center and (2) Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital. The primary purpose and mission of the Walter B. Jones Center is "To provide inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization and medical detoxification for individuals with mental health, substance use and other co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses for ongoing community based treatment and recovery".
Two specialty programs are offered to all 100 NC Counties:
(1) Inpatient Opioid Treatment for adults and (2) Inpatient Perinatal Services for women in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters with substance use disorders. To receive credit for all of your work history and credentials, you must list the information on the application form. Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus
Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:
A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).
(1) the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);
(2) the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;
(3) or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
