    Job Description

    The Safety and Quality Manager is responsible for directing and providing safety and quality program (including security) oversight to REO Logistics / REO Processing.

    The position oversees development and implementation of safety practices, and the quality management system including audits functions for safety and quality procedure implementation, ensures compliance with corporate, OSHA, EPA, State Agency's, and client requirements, and conducting root-cause analysis of safety and quality incidents.


    Duties and Responsibilities:


    Work closely with President, Directors, Plant Managers, Engineering, HR and line operators to cultivate REO Logistics / REO Processing safety and quality culture.

    Provide safety, environmental and quality leadership and direction to location and facility managers.

    Serve as the safety, environmental and quality subject matter expert with clients, regulators and REO Logistics / REO Processing staff working on projects or designing proposal responses.

    Manage safety, environmental and quality resources and related departmental budgets.
    Manage corporate safety environmental and quality staff. When necessary, plan, request and assist in the hiring of new personnel.
    Work within the corporate framework to foster the career growth of direct reports.
    Serve as the primary contact on safety, environmental and quality issues.
    Work as the internal incident manager, ensuring that safety emergencies and injuries are properly managed.
    Oversee customer corrective action system is maintained (ERCAS).
    Conduct safety and quality audits. Audits will include a summary report noting any deviations.
    Organizes and conduct safety and quality training as necessary.
    All federal, state and local environmental reporting.

    Qualifications and Skills:
    Prefer a minimum of 5 years of safety- and quality-related experience.
    Background in chemical liquids and solids processing based operations, warehousing, transportation, environmental and hazmat operations is preferred.
    4-year degree in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental or related fields is preferred.
    The position requires 30-50% travel.
    Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Quality Manager.
    The Manager is required to be competent in the following:

    Industrial and chemical health and safety standards
    Thorough knowledge of OSHA requirements, including standards, enforcement and record-keeping
    Strong supervision skills, particularly supervising off-site personnel
    Proven ability to lead others
    Understanding of ISO 9000
    Strong organizational skills
    Communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate employees
    Ability to communicate objectives and action plans
    Excellent grammar and writing skills
    Provided support for business units during regulatory inquiries
    Proficient use of computer and corresponding programs – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
