    Software Development Engineer, Staff

    What does a great Software Development Engineer do?

    The Software Engineer will work in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, application design, system development, testing and implementation.

    As a Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, where you can apply your existing knowledge to solve new market problems on almost a daily basis.

    This is a full-time position in a highly collaborative environment working with other skilled software professionals to deliver high quality software to help clients improve the way they do business.


    What you will do:
    Develop test automation to control the execution of tests and the comparison of actual outcomes with predicted outcomes.
    Develop complex applications based upon technical and functional specifications
    Assist in the development of and adhering to technical and functional standards
    Under limited direction, research, define, & complete required additions and changes to financial software products
    Under limited direction, analyze technical specifications for both creation of new or enhancing existing applications for compatibility with other systems
    Discuss aspects of the design with architects, team leads and business analysts to check understanding and raise concerns
    Enhance and maintain existing application software, continually providing support for internally developed applications
    Interact with external, as well as, internal clients for the purpose of data gathering, assisting with design, and ensuring development of solutions that meet or exceed client expectations

    What you will need to have :
    Associate's degree in Computer Programming or related discipline
    3+ years of experience in Software Development (any framework/language; .Net, Java, C#, VB.Net, etc.)
    Experience in Agile methodology
    Experience in automation testing, creating manual test cases; knowledge of automation tools

    What would be great to have:
    Bachelor's degree in IT or a related discipline
    Good analytical/technical background and experience with software development methodologies
    Demonstrated ability to work independently with general direction or as part of a team
    Demonstrated ability to work on moderately complex projects within tight timelines
    The ability to clearly communicate complex technical specifications, and a motivation to achieve best-in-class results.

    Travel required :
    The position is based out of

    Lincoln, NE.

    The travel requirements will be minimal.

    However, there may be business needs for travel (to client locations and other Fiserv locations) and hence some flexibility is expected.

    This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, New York or Washington.
