- Review purchases, standard contracts, individual journal entries and internal charges, batch journal entries and internal charges.
- Processes checks in QuickBooks.
- Provide guidance for purchases, provide financial review and approval of travel expenses and basic funds management.
- Work closely with SOFS groups and employees, as well as functional office staff, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
- Hire, train, and lead student workers supporting the SOFS office.
- High school diploma plus 3 years of related finance work experience; equivalent education/experience considered
- Experience or training in Microsoft applications
- Employee must have the ability to learn software packages (SAP and QuickBooks).
- Employee must have the ability to deal effectively with external and internal customers
- A willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new hardware and software systems
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience functioning in a team environment.
- Experience with creating and maintaining Excel equations and Macros
- Knowledge of finance terminology and practices
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to business practices
