Description

The primary purpose of this role is to act as a professional Mechanical Engineer, serving as a command technical consultant and Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) to all Air National Guard (ANG) installations and ANG Headquarters.

This opportunity is available to Career transition (CTAP, ICTAP, RPL) Federal employees who meet the definition of a "surplus" or "displaced" employee.

Eligibility:

Competitive serviceCurrent or former competitive service federal employees.

Excepted serviceCurrent excepted service federal employees.

Land & base managementCertain current or former term or temporary federal employees of a land or base management agency.
Military spouses and Veterans are also encouraged to apply.

Utilizing a professional knowledge of mechanical engineering, the selected candidate will be responsible for:

Serving as a command technical consultant/representative to activities, installations, headquarters, and professional committees.

Engaging in planning, reviewing, evaluating, and/or designing substantial new construction, renovation, and improvement projects.

The ideal candidate will coordinate projects with other engineers and keep updated on emerging technologies to ensure development remains relevant.

Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship Required
Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance
Professional registered engineering license is desirable
Work may require travel away from normal duty station
Overtime may be required
May be required to work other than normal duty hours

Qualifications:

In order to qualify, applicants must meet the specialized experience requirements for Mechanical Engineering.

Assessment:

Applicants will be evaluated based on their knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies in various areas including construction standards, environmental principles, and problem-solving abilities.

Education:

A degree in Engineering is a basic requirement. Education and experience combination will also be considered.
