    Description

    We are seeking a Helpdesk Administrator to join the team for a 6-month contract to start. You will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive level 1 support within a diverse Windows and Linux environment. This position offers the unique opportunity to not only solve immediate technical issues but also to contribute to the setup and management of our systems and support infrastructure for our 30 internal users.     Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support and Problem Resolution: Deliver prompt and efficient level 1 desktop support to resolve various issues in a mixed Windows and Linux environment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum user satisfaction.
  • System Setup and Configuration: You will be responsible for setting up new computers, including software installation and system configurations, to prepare for immediate deployment to end-users.
  • Account and Access Management: Manage user accounts and access controls within Google Suite, including password resets and permissions settings, to ensure secure and efficient operations.
  • Equipment Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of IT equipment, from deploying new systems to decommissioning old ones, maintaining a sustainable and updated IT infrastructure.
  • Support and Collaboration: Provide both onsite and remote support, troubleshooting various technical issues while maintaining excellent communication with team members and users alike.

    Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in desktop support, particularly within Windows and Linux environments.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite administration, including account management and support.
  • Competence in setting up new computers and decommissioning old equipment.
  • A solid foundation in both onsite and remote support practices, with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Comfortable working in the office at least 3 days a week.

    Desired Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience in a startup or dynamic small company environment.
  • Advanced technical acumen, with the ability to address a broad range of user needs.
  • Experience in application support, VPN, or network support is highly advantageous.
  • Any hands-on experience or familiarity with Linux, such as managing a home lab or professional exposure.

  • 50% Windows Support and Maintenance
  • 50% Linux Troubleshooting and Debugging, including addressing WIFI issues and other common Linux-related problems.
