    Overview



    Inotiv is looking for a Director of Toxicology to join our team in Mount Vernon, Indiana near Evansville. This position is responsible for accuracy and integrity of all work performed. Responsible for the direction of broad programs affecting the research staff, making all decisions independently or after consultation with management. Experience will determine if the position is hired at Director or Sr. Director level. Candidates with strong Toxicology experience are encouraged to apply





    Responsibilities



    Maintain sufficient facilities, equipment and personnel are available for evaluation of assigned problems.
  • Maintain research procedures are conducted in a manner to provide verification of all activities.
  • Review reports to maintain data is accurately reported in a scientifically sound manner.
  • Review procedures and methods to maintain evaluations are conducted in a scientifically sound manner.
  • Review and approve protocols to be assured the work can be conducted according to protocol requirements and the adequate personnel are available for the evaluation.
  • Maintain knowledge regarding new developments, including government regulations, and initiate procedures and programs to assure efficient scientific evaluations in compliance with appropriate regulatory authorities.
  • Perform pertinent administrative and supervisory responsibilities relevant to the research operation.
  • Review and approve all articles for publication and news releases emanating from the research area.
  • Act as interface with all regulatory agencies affecting the research area.
  • Perform general responsibilities common to all research management positions.
  • Participate in in-house training programs for the technical staff.
  • Maintain confidential information.
  • Interact with the community and employees.
  • Support and participate in other company initiatives as directed by management.
  • Perform Study Director duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.





    Qualifications



  • Ph.D. graduate of an accredited college or university. Possesses both broad fundamental and detailed specialized knowledge in the area of toxicology.
  • A minimum of 10 + years in toxicology and has managerial experience.
  • *This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
