    Overview



    Our growing company is seeking to hire a Painter (Wet Coat) at our high volume, high quality and fast-moving facility. As an employee at MEC, you will apply powder or liquid paint to products where high grade and decorative finishes are required ensuring required film thickness and cosmetic requirements are met.

    A role like this comes with some important responsibilities, some of those responsibilities include:

    Understands gun, pump, and other equipment operations and makes adjustments as trained to produce quality parts economically.
  • Follows proper paint procedures including distance from gun to part, flow rates, air pressure, and overlap.
  • May clean and prepare surface of article to be painted.
  • May apply masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
  • May select and mix coating liquid to produce desired viscosity.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled.
  • Troubleshoot equipment.
  • May rack work pieces on conveyor.
  • May inspect parts.
  • May pour coating liquid into spray container and connect gun to air hose.
  • Set up paint gun and adjust settings as needed.
  • May identify proper paint via structure information.
  • Pull trigger and direct spray onto work surface to apply prime or topcoat.
  • Load and move material to work area.
  • Properly use HVLP and Static paint guns.
  • Identify and troubleshoot paint defects.
  • Correctly rework parts with paint defects
  • Maintain a clean and properly functioning gun.
  • May be responsible for the safe handling, transfer & labeling of Hazardous Waste as detailed in the annual RCRA training class.

    What Does It Take to Be a Fit for This Role?

    • Having painting experience is preferred.
    • Must be able to wear a respirator.
    • Have the ability to stand for 8+ hours each day. Able to work overtime as needed.
    • Ability to understand work orders and follow instructions.
    • Ability to understand and follow at MEC safety policies and procedures.
    • Ability to bend, stand and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
