Job Summary
The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School is seeking a versatile and motivated Communications Manager to join our team.
Reporting to the Director of Global Communication and Strategy, the Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the Center's day-to-day communications activities.
This role requires a well-rounded communications professional who can coordinate external vendors, support social media and web content, develop email marketing campaigns, and maintain effective internal communications across the Center.
Position DescriptionCollaborate closely with the Director of Global Communication and Strategy to implement and execute the Center's overall communications strategy.
Coordinate and manage relationships with external vendors, including graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and printers, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Oversee the Center's social media presence, including content planning, posting, and engagement, to effectively communicate the Center's research and activities to various audiences.
Maintain the Center's website content, ensuring it is up-to-date, accurately curated, and aligned with branding guidelines.Train new project staff on website CMS and e-mail marketing, as well as create standard operating procedures and documentation.
Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to promote Center events, research, and initiatives, using best practices to engage target audiences.
Create and distribute internal communications to keep Center staff informed of news, events, and achievements.Develop and maintain strong relationships with Belfer Center experts and researchers to effectively gather information for communications materials.
Collaborate with other teams within the Center to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communications channels.
Monitor communication trends and industry best practices to continuously improve the Center's communication strategies.
Assist in crisis communication strategies, including drafting statements, managing media inquiries, and coordinating responses.
Use analytics and metrics to assess the impact of communications efforts and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Stay informed about current events, global affairs, and relevant policy issues to ensure the Center's communications remain timely and relevant.
Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
4+ years of professional experience in communications, public relations, or related roles, with a demonstrated ability to manage diverse communication tasks.

Salary Range:
$61,400 - $100,600
Note:
Starting salaries typically fall in the lower half of the salary range; however, they are ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.

Paid Time Off:
