    Description

    Yoh has an exciting, opportunity for a Sr. Statistical Programmer to join our rapidly growing life science manufacturing client based in Parsippany, NJ.

    The Senior Statistical Programmer, an adept programmer proficient in SAS and SQL, will oversee programming, management, and analysis of various types of studies including commercial administrative databases, registry cohorts, observational studies, and clinical trials. Responsibilities include executing multiple data processing tasks such as cleaning, extracting, and merging using SAS/SQL/R/Python programming languages. Additionally, the role involves applying statistical methods to analyze study data, with some understanding of interpreting results. Managing and maintaining clinical databases for prospective registry studies using web-based platforms like REDCap and OpenClinica is also a key responsibility.

    Working closely with their manager, the candidate will handle large real-world databases, extracting specific patient cohorts based on eligibility criteria, and defining exposures, treatments, and outcomes/endpoints. Analytical methods like propensity score matching and linear regression will be applied to conduct statistical analyses, both collaboratively and independently. Ensuring the quality and accuracy of results with minimal quality control oversight is crucial. The candidate will also engage in learning and contributing to the design and development of real-world studies to address business inquiries, demonstrating a foundational understanding of healthcare databases. Proactive self-learning and seeking guidance from their manager are essential for efficiently executing tasks and delivering results.

    This position collaborates with various departments, such as health economics and outcome research, market access, commercial operations and strategy, payer and employer relations, business development and clinical trials, data and statistical programmers, biostatisticians, project management, IT, and external vendors.

    Title: Sr. Statistical Programmer

    Compensation: $50/hr - $62/hr

    Location: Parsippany, NJ (remote/hybrid)

    Type: 1 year contract

    Shift: M-F 9-5pm EST

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and execute analysis for registry study and extensive claims databases.
    • Acquire proficiency in applying diverse statistical techniques to real-world research and clinical trial investigations.
    • Exhibit familiarity with Real-World Evidence (RWE) databases including healthcare claims, charge data master, Medicare, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR), as well as clinical trial data.
    • Aid in formulating statistical analysis plans and creating statistical outputs to bolster internal strategic initiatives and external communication efforts through conference presentations (abstracts, posters) and publications in clinical journals (original articles, review manuscripts).
    • Coordinate multiple projects effectively to adhere to established timelines.
    • Absorb knowledge on subject matters and emerging statistical methodologies.
    • Design and execute the creation of macro and library codes (e.g., SAS macros).
    • Contribute insights and participate in the advancement of the SAS/SQL/R/Python programming environment.

    Requirements:

    • Completion of a Master's program from a recognized institution in health economics and outcomes research (with emphasis on analytical abilities), statistics, mathematics, psychometrics/psychology, epidemiology, computer science, or related disciplines.
    • A minimum of 9 years of programming experience in SAS/SQL/R/Python, with at least 3-5 years spent in the pharmaceutical sector.
    • Demonstrated proficiency and advanced capabilities in programming and analysis using SAS/SQL/R/Python, encompassing:
    • Data processing, extraction, and cleansing utilizing SAS, SQL, R, or Python
    • Proficiency in SAS Macro language
    • Application of statistical techniques to health-related clinical and economic data
    • Generation of meaningful and easily understandable deliverables, such as descriptive data summaries, statistical tests, graphical representations, etc.
    • Ability to appreciate, understand, and interpret results effectively
    • Exhibited experience in conducting observational research, including expertise in study design and understanding strengths and limitations.
    • Proven aptitude in project management.
