    Job Summary

    An excellent career opportunity is currently available for a Payroll Specialist at Rezolut Corporate headquarters located in Atlanta, GA. In this exciting opportunity in a high growth, fast paced environment, you will utilize your experience in Human Resources and Payroll to significantly impact and support the Rezolut team.

    The Payroll Specialist will oversee and supervise the payroll functions of the organization, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

    The Payroll Specialist will provide tactical support aligning with business objectives and perform HR-related duties while supporting multiple departments or functional areas in the Corporate and Field environments. Our five team members each focus on different areas of HR but are expected to be flexible and adaptable, understand their teammates' jobs and pitch in when needed.

    This is a salaried career position requiring discretion and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

    Essential Functions of a Payroll Specialist

    • Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
    • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
    • Issues, or reissues replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge. Processes quarterly/annual pay adjustments as necessary.
    • Maintains and reviews payroll processing system to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
    • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including terminations, and changes to pay rates.
    • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
    • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
    • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
    • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing procedures.
    • Compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, employment records, government labor statistics, competitors' rates, and other sources.
    • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • May conduct or assist with conducting classification audits to ensure that jobs & employees are properly classified.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
    • May carry out additional responsibilities and special projects.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite – Excel specifically.
    • Experience with ADP WorkforceNow a plus

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent work experience required.
    • At least five years of payroll experience.
    • FPC/CPP preferred.
