    GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:


    This position is responsible for TDI's product quality, from purchase order to ship, of turbine engines and components produced at TDI's facility and external suppliers.

    The Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQE) will resolve manufacturing & shipment issues relative to customer specifications.

    The MQE will support the administration of TDI's quality processes, documentation, continuous improvement initiatives & interaction with external and internal personnel on quality initiatives.

    The MQE will be responsible for conception, evaluation, and implementation of root cause analysis & corrective/preventative action of quality and compliance issues.

    Tasks include developing and initiating standards and methods of inspection, testing and evaluation, inspecting to ensure that critical and complex aerospace components meet all customer specifications and blueprint requirements while implementing cost reduction initiatives and part/process improvement activities.


    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    Identify and correct external supplier quality escapes.
    Investigate and analyze root causes of failures/errors.
    Develops and implement correction and preventative action plans to include mistake-proof solutions.
    Conduct qualification/re-qualification of existing suppliers as well as initial qualification of new/alternate suppliers.
    Prepare quality data packages and additional support to customer quality/supply chain management personnel.
    Develop internal manufacturing, quality, and supply system requirements - document and enforce accordingly.
    Conduct internal quality audits and support routine and non-routine AS9100 audit activities.
    Maintain and execute all aspects of TDI's AS9100 quality system.
    Define and implement control plans and FMEA or similar analysis per customer requirements.
    Collect, analyze, and prepare statistical data as required to support engine programs and customer requests.
    Support cost-reduction initiatives by providing recommendations to improve manufacturing and supply chain.
    Provide input to business development and management personnel to support proposals and purchases.

    Review TDI engine and product BOM and maintain product compliance to customer and industry specifications and standards to include DoD/Government and commercial references.

    Regularly interface with supply chain management, material handling, and shipping/receiving personnelKeep company management informed of all issues, problems, and accomplishments on assigned programsOther Job FunctionsWork independently and with minimal direction/oversight.

    Must be at assigned worksite during assigned hours 100% of time; less PTO, FML/STD/LTDOther duties may be assigned as required to support TDI's products and line of business.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.

    Will consider a combination of education/certification with at least 10 years of documented manufacturing and quality management system experience in lieu of degree.

    Experience implementing quality controls and manufacturing solutions is strongly desired.
    Proficiency in manufacturing processes, inspection (CMM/GD&T) and quality processes.
    General PC use, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint experience required.
    Working knowledge of supplier negotiations and management strongly desired.
    Experienced in aerospace and defense manufacturing sector and supply chain is strongly desired.

    Experience with technical disciplines to include but not limited to:
    Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Purchasing/Buyers, Production/Operations, Testing, and Manufacturing.
    DoD MIL Standards and Specifications experience preferred.
    Experience in ITAR production environments a plus.
    AS9100 and ISO9000 experience preferred.
