    Description

    As a Temporary Billing & Payments Specialist, you will be responsible for the various billing and treasury functions associated with insurance and membership accounts.

    These functions include all aspects of member billing and cash receipt/disbursement processing for our members and agents.

    What you'll do


    PRIMARY RESULTS

    • Process all payments to the bank.
    • Process and collect on all returned payments/chargebacks.
    • Complete member billing balance adjustments.
    • Collect payment for outstanding member balances.
    • Process all member refund disbursements.
    • Process all agent commission payments.

    DUTIES

    • Maintain personal log in information for different banking software/websites.
    • Operate check scanner and various software to upload payments for bank deposit.
    • Retrieve and analyze various reports directly from the bank.
    • Analyze all electronic payments received for accuracy and identify variances in client payment balances.
    • Analyze and complete balance adjustment and balance transfer requests within insurance management systems.
    • Validate and reconcile system reports to bank reports.
    • Use various programs to electronically store and manage payment reports.
    • Receive client cash payments and deposit with the bank.
    • Check printing for member refunds and agent commissions.
    • Process US and Canadian electronic agent commission payments.
    • Evaluate errors for agent email addresses, and make corrections as necessary.
    • Void member refund and agent commission checks.
    • Record and process returned payments.
    • Analyze outstanding member balances and appropriately allocate payments.
    • Payment collections by contacting US clients and agents.
    • Analyze and confirm agent set-up in the insurance management system, and work with the Agency Servicing team to correct if necessary.

    Other things to note


    • This position is an in-office role at our Traverse City, Michigan location
    • Candidate must be able to start shift between 8:00 AM-9:00am EST, Monday through Friday.
    • Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
