    Research Scientist Position at ARLIS Intelligence and Security

    The University of Maryland, College Park is seeking a Research Scientist to join the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS). ARLIS is a strategic asset for research and development in various areas, supporting the intelligence community.

    Job Description:

    • Conduct research in areas such as social systems, autonomy, advanced computing, and more
    • Work alongside a diverse team of researchers and engineers
    • Opportunities to contribute to both unclassified and classified research projects
    • Engage in activities related to social sciences, computer sciences, psychology, and more

    Minimum Qualifications for Research Scientist Roles:

    Assistant level Research Scientist:
    • Ph.D. in a relevant field
    • Demonstrated scholarly production
    • Expected to apply for research grants and projects
    • Ability to obtain U.S. security clearance
    Associate level Research Scientist:
    • Ph.D. plus 5 years of research experience
    • Track record of research accomplishments
    • Ability to secure funding for projects
    • Eligibility for U.S. security clearance
    Full Research Scientist:
    • Ph.D. plus 10 years of research experience
    • Experience leading research projects
    • Demonstrated leadership and business development skills
    • National or international recognition in the field
    • Eligibility for U.S. security clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience as Principal Investigator on research projects
    • Leadership and management experience
    • Program and project management expertise
    • Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
