Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) II is a professional caregiver who takes responsibility for a group of patients for a set period. The RN II provides care to patients through the nursing process, the environment, and health care team members.
Key Responsibilities:

• Conducts assessment/data collection systematically, focusing on various aspects of patient status.
• Develops a goal-directed plan of care as needed.
• Delivers care consistently and thoroughly.
• Establishes care priorities based on patient needs and available resources.
• Identifies and addresses patient/family learning needs.
• Builds effective relationships with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
• Delegates tasks appropriately and supervises healthcare team members.
• Evaluates the care provided by team members.
• Uses efficient communication methods and safety principles.
• Participates in staff development and performance improvement activities.
• Engages in nursing research activities upon request.
• Demonstrates problem-solving abilities.
• Displays a service-oriented approach in all interactions.
• Provides data for staffing decisions and adapts to staffing changes.
• Demonstrates proficiency in using computers and electronic medical record systems.
• Performs other necessary duties.

Basic Qualifications: Experience

• Six months recent experience in an acute care setting or completion of the KP New Graduate/Residency Training Program.

Education

• High School Diploma/GED
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with relevant clinical experience.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in California.

License, Certification, Registration

• Registered Nurse License (California)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months of hire
• Basic Life Support certification

Additional Requirements:

• Demonstrated knowledge of the RN scope of practice
• Service-oriented mindset
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Training in specific specialties may be required.
