    Description

    Job Title: Live Haul Driver

    About the Role:

    We are seeking a qualified Live Haul Driver to join our team in Mt. Pleasant. As a key member of our live poultry transportation team, you will be responsible for the humane handling and transportation of live birds from producer farm sites to the processing plant, as well as completing related documents.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Operate a Manual CMV safely and efficiently
    • Use electronic logs to track trips and ensure compliance with regulations
    • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers
    • Secure loads by binding cages with hooks and ensuring excess torque weight is properly handled
    • Fuel vehicles and scale loaded cargo
    • Assist with loading and unloading of live birds at farm sites and holding sheds

    Requirements:

    • Class A CDL with a good safety record
    • Able to perform frequent heavy lifting with mechanical aptitude
    • Must be able to bind cages with an excess of 150 pounds of torque weight on a frequent basis
    • Pass a DOT physical and drug & alcohol screen
    • At least one year previous verifiable experience required
