    Description

    At ChampionX, we are looking for a highly motivated Chemist to join our RD&E team located in Sugar Land, TX. This role is part of a rotational program focused on developing expertise in oilfield chemicals to drive innovation projects. As a Chemist, you will work on developing novel solutions to enhance sustainability and energy production efficiency.     What You Will Do:
    • Evaluate physical properties like viscosity, density, pH, and more for analytical testing
    • Conduct product performance testing and formulate products
    • Operate specialized laboratory equipment under high pressure and temperature conditions
    • Provide direct laboratory support for various operations
    • Manage projects once established, handle data in SAP, and maintain laboratory databases
    • Ensure adherence to safety standards in all operations
    Minimum Qualifications:
    • BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related fields with up to three years of relevant experience
    • Experience working in a laboratory environment and operating specialized equipment
    • Attention to detail, ability to lift 30 pounds, and proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Exclusion of immigration sponsorship for this role
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Hands-on experience with product formulation and high-pressure equipment
    • Knowledge of organic synthesis is a plus, along with strong problem-solving skills
    • Effective oral and written communication abilities
