Profile Summary
Responsible for driving all the activities pertaining to production and production planning in coordination with sales and projects team.
Responsible for guiding and coordinating the activities of the different production units to meet customer requirements within defined time, cost and quality parameters.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with SOPs and company policies pertaining to productionKey roles and Responsibility
Develop and drive short term and long term production and maintenance strategy for all Manufacturing (Metals) Units in line with the overall Business Plans of the organization
Formulate production guidelines pertaining to quality, safety and maintenance and drive adherence to production processes across units
Participate in different industry forums / association and improve branding / visibility of the organization
Review, collate and prepare the annual manpower plan and budget for the department and monitor adherence to the same.
Review the key performance metrics / MIS of the department on a periodic basis and intervene as and when necessary.
Evaluate existing infrastructure vis-à-vis growth targets and prepare capital expenditure or capacity expansion plan and submit the same to the MD for approvalEnsure timely invoicing to customer and collection of receivables
Responsible for guiding and coordinating the activities of all production units, Production planning, Sourcing & Vendor Development, Inventory Management, Stores & Logistics and other related departments to ensure production as per customer requirements
Monitor status of production planning activities, and intervene to address challenges or delays, if any
Participate in activities to mitigate risks associated with supplier delivery and build relationships with key suppliers to ensure timely availability of critical components
Constantly review customer requirements as basis for any design changes in product design or production processes
Lead interactions with the R&D team in development of drawings and their adaptation to the production process; identify challenges, if any, with the technical drawings or BOM and resolve the same in coordination with the R&D team
Periodically review production reports and monitor adherence to prescribed timelines and quality standards; take corrective action in case of any deviations
Review compliance to all production, quality and safety standards and finalize action plans to improve the level of compliance
Take corrective actions on observations from Quality or Audit reports
Prepare and review production MIS for analysis of actual performance vis-à-vis the targets defined, identify the challenges and suggest mid-course corrections if required
Ensure internal capability building so that IDMC has minimum reliance on external vendors for the same and cost could be optimized.
Work with Head HR to ensure the department is adequately staffed as per the manpower requirements.Drive a culture of performance amongst subordinates – set goals, review and manage performance, guide and counsel and provide feedback on performance so as to ensure a motivated and committed team.
Ensure appropriate training and capability building of employees in the department.Mentor and groom high-potential employees, to ensure their career growth and succession readiness for key positions in the department.
Qualification & Experience
B.E. / B. Tech with MBA/ PGDBA in Production / Operations Management with 20 to 25 yrs. of exp. and at least 4 to 5 years in a leadership position of similar responsibility
