Job Title: Microbiologist - Onsite
Primary Skills: Molecular Biology lab, performing tests on specimens, safety standards, laboratory associated assays, molecular techniques, lab records.
Location: Indianapolis, IN (local candidates preferred)
Start details: 5/27/24
Work arrangement: Onsite: Indianapolis, IN
Duration: 7/31/2024
Expenses: No expenses will be reimbursed.
Interviews: In-person only
Job Requirements:
- Solid understanding of microbiology and related sub-specialties.
- Knowledge of scientific methods and testing procedures to solve public health laboratory issues.
- Proficiency in using technical equipment and scientific apparatus for analysis.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety practices and regulations.
- Adherence to state and federal laws such as CLIA.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in compiling, analyzing, and preparing laboratory reports.
Difficulty of Work:
Engaged in precise scientific analyses involving complex variables, requiring analytical judgment and technical expertise for accurate conclusions. Also involved in developing new testing procedures.
Responsibility:
Works independently as an expert in the field, maintaining safety practices. Errors could impact health and safety.
Personal Work Relationships:
Collaborates with supervisors, State Department of Health staff, and external entities to develop work procedures and share information.
Physical Effort: Requires extra effort and concentration due to the use of personal protective equipment.
Required Skills
- Experience in IT or related field. Highly desired. 2 yrs.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Science, preferably biology. Required.
- Must have 2 years of lab experience. Highly desired. 2 yrs.
- Experience in a Molecular Biology lab is preferred. Desired.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience required.
