Project Engineer- Water: Bozeman, MT

Our growth has created an exciting opportunity for individuals wanting to go beyond an ordinary career while working in an award-winning culture alongside an empowered team of Employee-Owners The Project Engineer will be responsible for providing water and municipal-related services such as developing and preparing plans, specifications, and estimates; designing pipelines, storage tanks, pump stations, and/or treatment systems while working closely with team members to provide high-quality deliverables on time and on budget to AE2S clients.

Responsibilities

Provide professional services for water engineering projects to include planning, study, design, and construction administration on projects
Develop client relationships and enhance pursued relationships with clients
Assist in identifying, evaluating, pursuing, and managing project opportunities
Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work
Provide support to Project Managers in maintaining budgets and schedules of project assignments
Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings
Provide mentorship for team members.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months
4+ years of experience in municipal civil engineering, with a strong interest in the water market sector (Drinking Water, Wastewater, Stormwater, Water Resources)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development
Ability to work remotely and manage projects, clients, and project team members
Knowledge of design standards and permitting
All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering
Knowledge of project financials & funding programs

Physical

Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
