    The UW Autism Center (UWAC) is devoted to supporting autistic individuals and their families through exceptional clinical services, innovative scientific research, and high-quality training.

    UWAC is part of the Institute on Human Development and Disability at the University of Washington and incorporates faculty and staff from the UW School of Medicine, College of Arts & Sciences, and College of Education.

    The Autism Center has an outstanding opportunity for a full time (100% FTE) Board Certified Behavior Analyst Lead.

    This position contributes to the growth and success of the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) team by executing the mission and vision as a key member of the Autism Center.

    This individual will work amongst a team of professionals, including licensed psychologists, speech-language pathologists, early intervention providers, medical professionals, faculty, graduate students, and pre- and post-doctoral fellows.

    They will offer consultation and support to other Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), some of whom have been in the field for 10 years and will provide direct clinical services to children, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorders.

    Duties & Responsibilities


    Clinical Services:

    • Provide individual skills training for children, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorders.
    • Provide consultation to community providers who work with patients in order to develop continuity in care for the patient and their family.
    • Complete initial client/patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, referral letters, and other administrative responsibilities in a timely manner and meet assigned deadlines.
    • Teach and design programs for students with autism spectrum disorders, including collaboration with general education teachers, school administrators, related services personnel and outside community providers.
    • Participate in community activities and events.
    • Collaborate with other clinical team members in assessment and intervention and consult with other members of clinical team regarding diagnosis and intervention strategies, as needed.
    • Keep appropriate records of services provided and coordinate with the billing office and direct supervisor regarding services to meet billable expectations.
    • Attend weekly staff meetings, other meetings as necessary.
    • Organize and maintain computer and paper records of therapy including collecting and accurately recording data in each therapy session, graphing data, and completing treatment notes and synthesizing results in a written report.

    Lead Responsibilities:

    • Responsible to ensure that staff are meeting established performance standards with clients and responsible for providing clear and accurate feedback and support to staff.
    • Support bachelor's level clinicians and practicum students to provide training, feedback/supervision and support as needed.
    • Lead team meetings.
    • Ensure work of all Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) clinicians to provide high quality and effective applied behavior analysis intervention services to all clients- including supervising sessions and reviewing treatment plans.
    • Enhance collaboration and team building.
    • Along with the clinical director, review the need to hire new employees and assist with hiring and selection process.
    • Help support development of new policies and procedures and ensure employees are following the policies.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in ABA, special education, psychology, or related field and 2 years accumulated professional experience.
    • Certified BCBA - Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

    Additional Requirements:

    • This position requires frequent traveling to multiple client homes daily, several times a week; the ability and flexibility to reliably travel to alternate work locations is critical.
    • Access to vehicle for commuting to and from place of work to other sites.

    Desired qualifications:

    • 5 years experience working as a certified BCBA and Master's degree (or higher) in education or related field is highly preferred.
    • 6+ years of experience in working with children, adolescents, and/or adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders AND supervising others in the implementation of empirically-based intervention for children with autism in home, school, and community settings is highly preferred.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Extensive knowledge of best-practice strategies for children and young adults ages 0-21 years old with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
    • Ability to support clinician's working with individuals with ASD through knowledge of research, ability to access resources and willingness to learn about this demographic.
    • Ability to exercise independent judgment, negotiate multi-layered regulatory systems, manage competing priorities, and strong organization skills.
