State Fund is recruiting for career-minded individuals to take on the responsibility for underwriting and servicing Small Commercial accounts. State Fund provides workers' compensation insurance throughout California and has openings for Underwriters in its Small Commercial business segment. Depending on business needs, we may hire in Fresno, Santa Ana, Monterey Park, or Vacaville. Under the supervision of an Assistant Underwriting Manager, Small Commercial underwriters perform the full range of duties necessary to effectively fulfill the workers compensation insurance needs of our smaller California employers. This is a high volume, fast-paced environment in which underwriters use technical knowledge, information from multiple sources and judgment to review new and renewing accounts for accurate pricing of workers compensation insurance policies for California's employers. Underwriters also coordinate policyholder servicing and maintenance as well as participate on special projects as assigned.

Travel will be required for initial underwriting training and periodically throughout the year. New Underwriters will be expected to attend a multi-week training program at State Fund's Learning Center in Vacaville, CA. All travel costs will be covered by State Fund.
