    **Description:**

    The machinist is an experienced individual with well-balanced knowledge of all applicable machining equipment, operations and processes. The focus of this position is to provide high quality production prep and finish surfaces within product specifications and tolerances.

    Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

    ? Select tooling and fixtures to set up and operate conventional machining equipment (e.g. horizontal and vertical lathes, mills and grinders) with minimal supervision

    ? Read and interpret sketches, drawings, and specifications of parts to grind or tool prep.

    ? Take measurements and mark material for cutting or grinding.

    ? Reports to Lead Machinist to prioritize all shop projects and work/scheduling assignments

    ? Machine finish and grind parts using manual lathes, grinders and various hand grinding tools to print specifications.

    ?Verify conformance of finished dimensions and record machined part fits to .0002 using precision measuring instruments.

    ? Perform daily routine maintenance on machinery and equipment.

    ? Comply with company policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety and security procedures

    ? Responsible for clean and safe working condition of facility and equipment

    ? Perform administrative functions such as required

    ? Ensure all required job travelers/reports/inspections/service records are completed as required by the individual job or process control procedure.

    ? Diagnosis or troubleshoot of problems i.e. set-up, machining, finishing, etc.

    ? Perform other duties as required.

    **Additional Skills & Qualifications:**

    2 or more years of experience as a manual or conventional machinist or combo of work experience and completion of apprenticeship or education

    Able to read blueprints accurately to perform set-ups to machine parts to specific tolerances

    Experience using precision measuring tools for quality inspection

    Team player, willing to help out in other areas if need be and willing to work OT if needed
