    Ashley Oaks Apartments, a fast-paced affordable housing apartment community in Richmond, VA is seeking a Full Time Recertification Specialist to join our team. The Recertification Specialist is expected to know and reference HUD regulations regarding the Section 8 Programs. The preferred candidate will have their COS, and knowledge of the Yardi software system along with other IT systems.

    Recertification SpecialistResponsibilities:

    • Process Initial, Annual, and Interim recertifications in a timely manner.
    • Calculate rents for annual and interim recertification.
    • Ensure compliance with all HUD, Tax Credit, and/or other regulatory requirements related to the property's funding sources.
    • Utilizing EIV and correcting discrepancies.
    • Maintain resident files according to compliance standards.
    • Manage workload, and ensure all re-certifications are completed in a timely manner.
    • Review monthly recertification list with supervisor to ensure timely completions.
    • Ensure detailed notes are placed in the computer system and resident files.
    • Effectively maintain the waiting list
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Requirements

    Recertification SpecialistQualifications:
    • Must have knowledge of HUD policies and procedures; minimum 2 years of experience required.
    • Experience working with multi-family housing preferred.
    • Detail-oriented and the ability to operate on a deadline-driven schedule.
    • Possess strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • COS certification is preferred.
    • Have a valid driver's license.
    • Knowledge of Yardi, evaluate Background Checks, Social Media, and other IT systems that promote knowledge and upgrades to the standards in the industry.
    Recertification SpecialistCompetencies
    • Must be able to exercise a great deal of discretion, work independently or with little oversight, and use independent judgment.
    • Possess knowledge of general office policies and administrative procedures and practices.
    • Ability to efficiently handle and coordinate multiple tasks and project assignments.
    • Strong time management skills and ability to effectively prioritize.
    • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
