- Provide weekly individual and /or couples counseling to parents whose children are in foster care, as well as therapeutic visits for the parent and child.
- Counseling and parenting group are geared towards identifying and resolving the issues that resulted in placement in out of home care.
- Prepare and facilitate parenting group.
- Meet with DCP&P monthly for case conferences.
- Participate in necessary meetings (litigation, Family Team Meetings).
- Complete monthly summaries and assessments as needed.
- Monitor parents progress with services and overall stability in order to assist DCP&P in supporting a permanent plan for the child.

Our mission of saving childrens lives and building health families is at the core of all of our programs. This position within the Childrens Home Society is providing counseling to families involved with DCP&P. This position provides an array of clinical experience to grow your career. Candidates are supported within the program team, through clinical supervision, and throughout the agency. CHS is dedicated to supporting our team in enhancing skills to effectively meet the needs of our families.
The Social Worker II will carry a caseload of approximately eight families.
Clinical Supervision provided at no cost for our employees.
Schedule: 35 Hours Per Week
Signing Bonus: $5,000.00
Salary: $60,000.00/annual

Training in Trauma Informed/Evidence Based treatment modalities preferred but not required.
Responsibilities:The ISP Program works with parents whose children have been placed in out of home care by the Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P). The clinician will be assigned an average caseload of eight families. Services provided are individual/couples counseling, parenting psychoeducation group, and supervised visitation. Interventions are geared towards identifying and resolving the issues that led to the childs placement. Staff will provide referrals to appropriate agencies for resources and supportive services and monitor parents progress with services and overall stability in order to assist DCP&P in supporting a permanent plan for the child.
Education Requirements:
Masters Degree in Social Work or related field of Study
Licensed Clinician - LSW, LAC, LPC, or LCSW
Work Experience Requirement:
Must have at least 4 years of experience in therapeutic counseling and working with diverse families providing culturally appropriate services. Experience should include individual, couple, family and group counseling with a focus of working with a population that has experienced trauma.
Other Skills and Abilities:
All social workers in this category must have the ability to use their training and experience constructively in social work practice (diagnostic and treatment planning skills must be demonstrated), be willing to conduct his/her self according to the ethics of the profession, be interested in increased skills and knowledge, be able to record, organize and execute the duties assigned, and be able to work cooperatively with other members of the staff, other agencies, and the community. Must have a car and valid drivers license as travel is required.
