    Description

    Cleans various fixed and portable equipment. Collects and Disposes trash, sweeps and mops department. Weighs and documents grease.


    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)

    1. Cleans floors using floor scrubber and pressure washer.
    2. Cleans various fixed and portable equipment in the department, using cleaning chemicals, steam hose, gloves, goggles, mask, and apron.
    3. Collects all trash in the department, transporting and disposing of same in compactor.
    4. Delivers food carts to patient floors in specified order according to schedule, assembles cold trays as requested by nursing.
    5. Retrieves late trays from each nursing unit.
    6. Pick up assigned catering function.
    7. Breaks down and soaks dishware.
    8. Relieves other porter positions, storeroom clerk, storeroom clerk assistant, and pots and pans positions.
    9. Secures entire department at end of shift.
    10. Sweeps and mops the cafeteria, dock, dishroom, and walk-in coolers/freezers daily, using proper chemicals and double bucket mopping method.

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to read, write legibly, and speak English.
    • Mechanical aptitude to disassemble and reassemble equipment.
    • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
    • Ability to work as par of a group.


    EDUCATION

    • High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Required
    • Aptitude to disassemble and reassemble equipment.
