We are searching for a Test Technician - Comfort Lab to join our client's team in Plymouth, MI.

Job Title: Test Technician - Comfort Lab

Job Location: Plymouth, MI

Job Type: Contract

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Determine seat H-Points by performing established test procedures using SAE J826 mannikins.
Generate 3D Models of seat surfaces through scanning with Faro arms / laser scanners.
Create pressure maps for seat cushions and backs utilizing Xsensor pressure mats.
Take measurements of headrest dimensions according to relevant regulations.
Conduct various safety and functional checks on seat test samples.
Process post-test data and interpret results.
Complete all required testing documentation, including calibration sheets, data sheets, test reports, video files, and still photos.
Maintain a safe, secure, and organized workplace following 5S standards.
Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed.
Manage calibration records for lab equipment and instrumentation.
Verify accuracy of calibration records from external calibration laboratories for lab equipment and instrumentation.
Utilize Global Lab Information System (gLIMs) for test data and information.
Assist in the test report process by uploading files, loading test data, providing summaries, and observations.
Participate in department meetings when necessary.
Collaborate with test engineers and customers as needed.
Support test method development and continuous improvement projects as needed.
Handle material movement such as fixtures, pallets, and test samples.

Required:

Previous experience in a test lab environment with knowledge of equipment, methods, and instruments.
Associates degree, technical degree, vocational training, or related work experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience.

Preferred:

Experience in measuring H-Points.
Proficiency in laser scanning using Faro arms/scanners.
Skilled in pressure mapping using Xsensor pressure mats.
Over 3 years of test experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
Ideal to have automotive seating experience.
