    Associate Data Warehouse Engineer


    AssuranceAmerica is seeking an Associate Data Warehouse Engineer in the metro Atlanta area to join our growing ranks as we continue to transform the way technology impacts the insurance business. You will work with a small team of experienced IT professionals and interface directly with stakeholders to understand their challenges and develop solutions. Your daily contributions will have direct, positive impacts on our employees, agents, and customers.

    About the ROLE


    Each day at AssuranceAmerica is different, but as a Data Warehouse Engineer I in Information Technology, you will:
  • Assist in monitoring production jobs, correcting failures, troubleshooting and solving problems.
  • Manage break/fix events and drive solutions to correct and prevent recurring issues
  • Respond to user needs for ad hoc queries using T-SQL, and institutional reports using SSRS, Power BI and refreshable Excel Pivot tables.
  • Proactively communicate directly with business representatives to extract requirements and review work in progress.
  • Assist with development of ETL packages for translation and movement of data between vendor systems and the Data Warehouse.
  • Communicate data warehouse related issues, changes and outages to department manager and end-user community.
  • Recommend standards, procedures, and policies that help both the internal group as well as other operations and customer groups.
  • Assist with research and recommendations of newer Azure / Cloud based technologies to replace legacy data warehouse systems and processes.
  • Organize work schedule to achieve timely processing of all responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and self-motivated approach to learning new technologies and techniques to enhance development skills.

    Required

    • Requires a 4-year degree in computer science or a related technical area.

    • 1-3 years of experience as a SQL / Data Warehouse Developer in a SQL Server environment.

    • Experience with T-SQL (candidates will be tested)

    Preferred

    • Experience creating stored procedures and functions

    • Experience developing SSRS reports

    • Experience with ETL development

    • Experience with Azure (Managed Instances, SQL Databases)

    • Auto insurance experience

    Physical Requirements

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

    • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times

    • May be required to work on-call, evenings or weekends
