    This is a 10-month school year, on-call substitute position.rPOSITION DUTIESAdminister medications (via oral, topical, inhalation, and injection) asrprescribed for medical conditions or injuries.

    Assess, evaluate, andrmonitor students' current medical and emotional health status and identifyrnursing needs of students. Maintain accurate and adequate records ofrnursing care and observations and treatment according to establishedrprocedures. Maintain student health center facility. Providerauxiliary duties as needed. On-call nurse substitutes must be availableron an on-call basis. This is a contractual position.


    rMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSrEducation:
    Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses

    rrrExperience:
    None.r rrDESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPediatric, school, or camp nurse experience desirable. Experiencerwith or willingness to learn American Sign Language (ASL).rLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS1.

    Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as aRegistered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 PattersonAvenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 or possess a current multi-state licenseinparty states that candidates have declared as primary states of residence.r2.

    Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile.

    Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

    r3. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification. rSPECIAL REQUIREMENTSr1.

    Employees in thisrclassification are subject to call-in and, therefore, will be required torprovide the facility with a phone number at which they can be reached.rrr2.

    Employees in therclassification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with therCode of Maryland Regulations , Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.rrr3.

    New hires arersubject to a criminal background investigation at their own expense.r(Maryland Code, Family Law Article 1, Sections rrr4.     As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled.

    The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits.

    You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.rLeave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period.
