    The role focuses on enhancing fermentation and downstream processes, utilizing tools like mass and energy balances for continuous analysis. It involves leading process development, optimizing production facilities for technical, economic, and safety improvements. Additionally, it provides guidance to team members, identifies improvement opportunities, coordinates trials, and implements measures for sustained enhancements.

    The position collaborates with various stakeholders, manages multiple projects, and supports Process Development and Engineering Managers in lysine and Veramaris production.


    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Adding value to the process through statistical process control and data historian tools.
    Initiate and manage plant trials (pilot and full scale). Support transfer of process optimization to production with particular focus on throughput increase. Foster communication to R&D sites and align optimization pathways while using additional data generated through these resources.
    Responsible for supporting or executing capital projects with special focus on efficiency optimization and de-bottlenecking.

    Facilitate and coordinate root cause analyses (both formal and informal) that correct problems and improve plant performance in any area.

    Responsible for the coordination and direction of process optimization projects. Conduct process optimization analyses to include improvement of production process, equipment and product quality. Improve plant operations, reduce/eliminate downtime and reduce production costs.
    Manage the process development activity on-site and coordinate efforts, when appropriate, with other colleagues from the AN
    Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and create an environment which fosters environmental best practices.
    Assist in the hiring and training of personnel for the facility.
    Prepare the monthly plant mass balance, analyze results, and drive improvement based upon results obtained.

    Ensuring compliance with all OSHA regulations and create a work environment which fosters safety and the promotion of safe working practices.

    Improve the EHSQ program drawing on the best practices of the parent organization.
    Uphold all HACCP, ISO 9001/14001, and RC14001 policies.
    Provide leadership, guidance and technical expertise to fellow process development team members.


    REQUIREMENTS
    Minimum of B.S. or equivalent degree in Biotechnology or Chemical Engineering or similar
    Minimum of 3 years' experience in production management or process engineering of industrial chemical processes.
    Proven ability to understand and manage complex fermentation and downstream process using data assessment tools state of the art. Comprehensive knowledge in processing technologies as drying, materials handling, and/or chemical processes.
    Proven track record of positive behavior aspects in the areas of safety, environment and quality. Knowledge of safety and environmental regulatory requirements for products and operations.
    Knowledge and experience using engineering tools to increase plant availability and reliability as well as for efficiency optimization.
    Proven ability to drive and successfully realize improvement projects involving numerous functions.
    Knowledge of QA programs and ability to implement into production management.
    Ability to support and manage capital projects.
    Proven ability to troubleshoot and/or improve processes and sustain high performance.
    Strong Interdisciplinary Teamwork and Communication Skills.
    Excellent Problem-Solving Skills.
    Interest in continuing qualification and training.
    Ability to work with self-directed work teams.
    Ability to supervise and develop others
