- Listening to students' concerns about academic, emotional, or social concerns
- Leading monthly SEL classroom lessons
- Helping students process problems and plan goals and actions related to student support
- Mediate conflict between students and teachers
- Improve parent/teacher relationships
- Facilitate Rising Scholar enrichment groups for students
- Refer students to psychologists and other mental health resources
- Work on academic boards to improve learning conditions

Summary of Duties:
Mankato Area Public Schools currently has an opening for a licensed school counselor at Monroe Elementary. School Counselors serve a vital role in supporting the whole child.
