    Description

    The Part-Time Clinical Instructor, Nuclear Medicine Technology ,will be a member of a diverse team that supports student success, advancing equitable economic mobility, personal empowerment, and transformed communities.

    Conducts college courses at appropriate quality for undergraduate students as assigned by the Department Chair and approved by the Dean.

    Facilitates the learning process by designing and implementing appropriate, meaningful, and equitable instructional activities, and by drawing from the scholarships of teaching and learning and cultivating a supportive learning environment that allows students to think critically.

    Evaluates student learning by implementing well-designed assessment tools.

    Additionally, participates in curriculum development, mentoring of students, helps students connect with academic and non-academic supports services as needed, and engages in institutional service, professional development, and other duties assigned by the Department Chair and Dean.

    This role also keeps accurate records pertaining to students and adheres to all institutional policies and procedures.


    The Part-Time Clinical Instructor, Nuclear Medicine Technology, will teach NMT courses, supervise clinical laboratory learning experiences, evaluate student achievement and develop curriculum, as assigned by the department chairperson.


    This position has approximately: 42 working days during Fall semester, 42 working days during Spring semester, and 12 working days during Summer semester, with approximately 20 hours per week.

    This is subject to change and is based on the current Academic Calendar. Holidays, college closure, inclement weather closure may affect working schedule.

    Minimum Qualifications


    You must possess the following:

    • Ability to work in a diverse environment.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, spreadsheets, presentation and collaboration apps and software.
    • Valid Driver's License with a driving record in good standing.
    • Associate or bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

    Note:

    Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a United States Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC.


    • Current NMT Certification (NMTCB and/or ARRT-N).
    • Minimum of one-year post-certification clinical experience as a nuclear medicine technologist
    • Knowledge of commonly performed nuclear medicine procedures and therapies, knowledge of nuclear medicine instrumentation, radiation safety, and the ability to explain nuclear medicine content in a manner that students can comprehend
    • Ability to appropriately utilize learning management system tools as required by the college and/or department.
    • Maintain current licensure, certification, or other professional credentials required for position.
    • Willingness and ability to teach face-to-face classes, online asynchronous, and online synchronous classes, as needed.
    Preferred Qualifications Essential Duties

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    • Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as designated by the department chairperson and approved by the dean.
    • Assume responsibility for maintaining all required College records including attendance and grade reports, roll books, etc.
    • Make recommendations to Department Chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs.
    • Construct, administer, and grade examinations, as needed.
    • Evaluate students on clinical proficiencies using established protocols and rubrics
    • Communicate with Affiliate Education Supervisor (AES) and clinical staff on student progress, any improvements needed, and any student clinical issues
    • Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all policies of the College.
    • Attend specialized training activities that enhance job performance and foster diversity, equity and inclusion.
    • Foster diversity, equity and inclusion with colleagues and students.
    • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
    • Pursue continuous improvement in the areas of subject matter expertise; teaching and learning; the use of educational technology; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and other areas related to the strategic goals of the college.
    • Facilitate the learning process by designing and implementing inclusive instructional activities that are appropriate and meaningful and that maximize equitable student outcomes.
    • Demonstrated practice of fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in the classroom and among your team, as well as experience working in a diverse environment.
    • Willingness and ability to travel and work at multiple campuses or offsite clinical locations as necessary

    Language Skills:

    • Read written communications and analyze and interpret both verbal and written communications.
    • Respond coherently both verbally and in writing to students, co-workers and individuals having contact with the College.
    • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community, if needed.
    • Communicate with students and clinical staff technologists in a cordial, professional, and respectful manner that enhances the clinical educational experience for students

    Mathematical Skills:

    • Knowledge of and ability to perform nuclear medicine mathematics, and ability to teach math if needed.
