THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Records Specialist 1, you will maintain accurate and up-to-date master files.
You will analyze court documents to create and revise sentence structures and sentence calculations; revise sentence calculations when changes are made by the court or the Pennsylvania Probation and Parole Board; review time periods identified as commitment credit to determine if the credit is legal and should be applied; update and review inmate criminal histories; and conduct one-on-one inmate interviews, fingerprinting and photographing.
Additional duties include the scrutinizing of inmate cases assigned to your caseload prior to release to ensure that the release is legal, timely, and that the inmate has met all requirements for release.
You also ensure that the registration and fingerprinting of parole violators and sex offenders under Megan's Law are processed appropriately.

Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per weekWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
This position is eligible for full retirement at age 60 or 65.
Salary:
In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39, before taxes).You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of clerical or correctional custodial experience;
orAn equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
You must be able to obtain and maintain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
