    Job Description

    Host/Hostess

    Reports to: Director of Food & Beverage, Food & Beverage Managers

    FLSA Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt

    Summary: Welcome members and escort them to their seats in a courteous and friendly manner in the Club's continuing effort to deliver outstanding member experience.

    Job Tasks/Duties
    • Provide arriving members with a prompt, gracious greetings, and seat them comfortably with menus
    • Monitors restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow
    • Works with management and team members to ensure top quality service delivery to Members and guests
    • Helps dining room staff by setting and clearing tables; replenishing water; serving beverages
    • Assists others with side work including, but not limited to cleaning, stocking, folding silverware, etc.
    • Places reservations
    • Ensures knowledge of menu and specials
    • Responds to member inquiries in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    Requirements

    Essential Requirements
    • Previous experience in the country club environment preferred
    • Food and Beverage Knowledge preferred
    • Must be upbeat, outgoing and positive
    • Ability to articulate thoughts and actively listen in order to communicate effectively with co-workers, members and guests
    • Ability to use empathy to understand members, guests and coworkers' feelings or mood and responding in the appropriate tone and manner
    • Ability to demonstrate proactive hospitality by taking the initiative to approach members, guests and coworkers with a positive and upbeat attitude
    • Demonstrated track record of showing responsibility through taking ownership of issues and following through
    Physical Demands and Work Environment
    • This position includes (long periods of) balancing, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling and repetitive motions.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Must be able to work in hot conditions for long periods of time.
    • Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above.
    • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
    • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
