- Perform farm production tasks (planting, irrigation, weed control, pest management, crop maintenance, harvest, seed cleaning, etc.) and other special projects well and on time.
- Provide training support for Ag Spec I, as needed.
- Participate in morning meetings.

- Assist in daily order shipments; by gathering, checking, packing, shipping, stocking and other duties as needed
- Pack seed into commercial and consumer sizes using various hand or mechanical means available

- Basic computer and math skills are required.
- Comfortable working in a repetitive processes environment
- Ability to follow processes and detailed instructions
- Familiar with conversions of oz/lb into grams
- Able to work overtime and weekends as the position dictates

- Complete all necessary trainings.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- An applied knowledge of organic and sustainable farming operations.
- Minimum of two seasons as an Agricultural Specialist I (or equivalent agricultural experience)
- Basic proficiency in farm equipment or tools (tractor operation not required - dependent on individual comfort level).
- Participation on specialized production team(s).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and other basic computer applications.
- Ability to read and understand printed crop maps
- Thorough understanding of key Johnny's research farm enterprises and systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Analytical and creative problem solver.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced and productive environment.
- Hold a valid Maine driver's license.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks.

Farm Operations Ag Specialist II
Position Summary
The Agricultural Specialist II position is focused on supporting the Research and Production team in growing and maintenance of variety trials, breeding workshops, and seed production crops at the Albion Research Facility and surrounding contracted fields during the growing season. During the off-season this position will report to either the Fairfield or Winslow location. This is a full-time, hourly position.
