    Supports the supervision ofshift activities, and acts as the expert during his or her assignedshift. Duties include daily support of staffing and assignments,providing resource support, supporting preceptor tasks, andfulfilling assigned patient care workload. Our Respiratory Department isdedicated to providing quality, patient centered care and serviceto the citizens of this community.     Some facts aboutus:
    • We utilize Respiratory DrivenProtocols to manage patients in ICU and acute care areas. Aftercompleting competency, RTs are able to intubate and insertA-lines
    • We work in adult cardiac care unit(ICU), medical/surgical ICU, progressive care unit (PCU), acutecare floors (womens, medical, surgical, joint/spine,neuro)
    • We have a Womens Center with a level 3NICU. RTs will attend deliveries and care for babies who areadmitted to the NICU receiving respiratorycare
    • We have a pulmonary function lab (PFT)where RTs perform outpatient and inpatientPFTS
    • We perform inpatient EKGs on the generalcare floors, occasionally outpatient (shared service withcardiology)
    • We manage GE Carescape R860 vents,Servo I vents, Drager VN500 and HFOV NICU vents, Phillips V60,Bubble CPAP, REMstar CPAP, Smart Vest, andAirvo
    • We perform bronchoscopy assistance withGlidescope disposable bronchs
    • Opportunity tocross-train on EEGs, PFTs and NICU
    • Option toparticipate in Annual Pulmonary Conference, Leadership Developmentclasses, and Skills Development Courses
    • Ourteam consists of approximately 50 members, 1 director, 1supervisor, 1 NICU lead, and 2 adult lead
    • Wetypically run 7 people during the day and 6-7 at night. Varies percensus and acuity
      • We cover our SouthCampus which has an ED, behavioral health unit and acute carerehab. 1 RT for each shift.
    • We allowcandidates to shadow our department andfacility
    Qualifications:
    MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED:
    Requires an Associates Degree inRespiratory Therapy Sciences.
    MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:
    Minimum of two years clinical experience inrespiratory care. Current BCLS, ACLS and NRP certificationsrequired. Proficient in all patient care settings (i.e., adult ICU,NICU). If limited NICU experience, able to ramp up basic skill set(i.e., delivery support, blood gases, equipment setup) within adefined timeframe.
    MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONREQUIRED BY LAW:
    Is a Registered Respiratory Therapist(RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); has andmaintains a current licensure as a Respiratory Care Professional inthe state of Georgia.
