- Demonstrate skills and abilities by following the guidelines in venipuncture, heel and finger stick
- Have knowledge and skills in basic collection and specimen preparation, storage and disposal of specimen, revision of daily temperature and recording; according to Lab Procedure Manuals
- Perform point of care testing, quality control, reporting and records keeping of CLIA waived complexity testing according to Lab Procedure Manuals
- Demonstrate basic computer literacy to meet department needs and duties (i.e. records keeping, health record entries, results tracking, etc.)
- Performs patient care functions as prescribed by licensed health care providers following established clinical protocols and policies and procedures within defined scope of education, training and responsibilities
- Ability to multi task, flexible, ensures accuracy and completeness of work, adaptable to changes in department and business needs
- Accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision and maintain good working relationship with employees, coworkers and departments
- Maintains workstation, furnishings and equipment clean, and supply inventory at prescribed stock levels
- Assist in checking daily temperature and recording
- Possess personal characteristics of professionalism, credible commitment to high standards with excellent communication skills; effectively and clearly communicate verbally and in writing with patients and other customers
- Adhere to the established departmental policies and objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards
- May be requested to assist in communication efforts that require verbal translation for patients, depending on the assignment
- Will be required to travel to other sites as needed
- Maintain current continuing education and professional licensure
- Attend and participate in meetings and additional duties as required

Essential Functions Of The Job
Education Required (Minimum level of education): High School or equivalent
Certifications/Licenses Required:
Phlebotomy Certification - Current California State Phlebotomy Licensure
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
Preferred: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
Experience Required (Minimum level of experience): Six months medical laboratory experience as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Proficient in medical terminology. Basic computer literacy.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements (Sitting/Standing/Walking/Lifting/Noisy): Exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens subject to varying and unpredictable situations Exposed to infection from disease-bearing specimens and patients.
