    The Opportunity
    BETA is a self-clearing securities processing solution for wealth management firms.

    Built on years of expert knowledge and hands-on experience, BETA provides critical back-office controls including corporate action management, middle office exception management, and front office account management and trading tools for advisors.

    We are currently seeking an experienced and technology oriented individual to take on the role of Software Engineer, Technology Development.

    This is an individual contributor position, and the ideal candidate is responsible for development, delivery, and support of technology-based business solutions.

    They will test and implement configuration changes and assist in the design of software applications to meet both functional and technical requirements.

    The individual will deliver strategic initiatives within the Wealth Management Platform Product Engineering team.
    About the Team

    Reporting to the Manager, Technology Development, this role is part of a Scrum team supporting a product(s) within the Wealth Web Services team.

    The team builds Services and RESTful APIs that are exposed to our end-client firms as well as to our internal applications.

    Our business model is hybrid, working from our Brookfield, WI campus.

    What You'll Do
    Writes new software, makes modifications to existing software, integrates software applications and modules in accordance with agreed upon specifications provided by leads
    Creates and executes unit testing and integration testing ensuring modules meet requirements
    May need to provide technical support to operations or other development teams
    Creates and maintains all required technical documentation related to assigned components to ensure supportability
    Designs and implements solutions as directed within standards
    Participates in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work
    Provides regular status updates via internal team meetings, scrum ceremonies and status meetings

    Your Experience
    Bachelor's Degree in engineering (Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics, Information Science)
    2 to 4 years of experience in developing complex integration projects using IBM
    Experience with one or more programming languages such as C#, ASP.NET, software engineering methodologies, computer science principles and understanding of software development quality processes
    Knowledge of SOA, Integrations, and Cloud Software
    Knowledge of the following languages and specifications – XML, XML Schema, XPath, XQuery, JSON, Integration Bus (IIB and IIB WebSphere Message Broker
    Some hands-on experience in designing and developing high volume web services using API Protocols and Data Formats (REST, JSON, SOAP, and XML)
    Knowledgeable in API modeling languages and annotation (Swagger, RAML, etc.)
    Knowledge of standard technologies that enable messaging, including JMS, MQ, XML, WSDL, SOAP, HTTP, HTTPS, and other forms of security
    Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
    Experience in solving complex and mature systems

    Preferred, not required, Experience
    Master's Degree in Computer Science
    Working knowledge on multi-threading concepts
    Strong DBMS skills including SQL, Oracle, DB2
    Java, RegEx, COBOL, and SoapUI / ReadyAPI
    IBM Professional Certification
