    Job Description

    North American Concessions in Chicago, IL is seeking a skilled Hot Rice Bowl Cook to join our dedicated team within Midway Airport.

    Position Summary: The Line Cook (Hot Rice Bowl Cook) is enthusiastic about cuisine, has a keen eye for detail, exhibits a strong work ethic, and is eager to expand their knowledge. In a fast-paced setting, line cooks ensure that all menu items are cooked, plated, and meet company standards.

    Essential Functions:

    • Adhere to portioning controls and par levels
    • Prepare menu items following recipes and special requests
    • Available to work various hours, days, and shifts, including weekends
    • Safely and efficiently use all tools and equipment, including knives
    • Maintain food safety and quality standards
    • Read a thermometer accurately
    • Monitor menu item quantities and alert management when below minimum levels
    • Follow food allergy procedures and special orders
    • Comply with safety and sanitation guidelines
    • Abide by all employment rules and procedures
    • Collaborate well with team members
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as a cook
    • Familiarity with kitchen equipment
    • Detail-oriented
    • Effective communication skills
    • Experience in cooking custom items
    • Ability to prepare sauces and marinades
    • Prep throughout the shift
    • Multi-tasking abilities
    • Maintain stock of necessary items
    • Obtain food safety certifications
    • Excellent customer service skills
    • Capable of occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to pass background checks
    • Adherence to safety and security regulations
