    JOB SUMMARY

    This Operations position is responsible for supervising Delivery activities. Responsibilities include providing management and direction to delivery staff, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and maintaining the safety and security of the delivery department.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supervises daily work and safety of Delivery Associates, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, planned routes, and delivering safe and efficient customer service.
    • Ensures Delivery Associate compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and maintains accurate electronic logs.
    • Manages labor hours, consumable supplies, and prepares work schedules as needed.
    • Oversees the selection and utilization of company assets in support of the Delivery department.
    • Reviews delivery functions and productivity reporting, suggesting efficiency and cost reduction measures.
    • Communicates with Sales Management and Marketing Associates to resolve customer and delivery issues collaboratively.
    • Visits customer locations to address issues and assess delivery challenges.
    • Preserves associate relations through regular meetings and maintains open communication channels.
    • Collaborates with the Safety department on training, conducting associate observations, and facilitating safety inspections.
    • Executes management functions such as staff selection, development, discipline, and performance reviews.
    • Performs duties of associates supervised and other related tasks as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business Management or similar major preferred.

    Experience

    • 1-3 years of related experience and/or training.

    Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

    • Completion of a Sysco approved defensive driving program.
    • HazMat certification preferred; Valid Class A Commercial Driver License meeting Company standards preferred.

    Professional Skills

    • Ability to lead discussions and meetings, work collaboratively with peers, and apply problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in interpreting instructions, regulations, and policies effectively.
    • Familiarity with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and technology software.
    • Strong computer skills, communication abilities, and decision-making capabilities.
    • Good mathematical and analytical skills.

    Physical Demands

    • Regularly required to talk, stand, walk, sit, use hands, and climb; occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and lift heavy items.
    • Specific vision abilities required.

    Working Conditions

    • Exposure to various environmental conditions and non-traditional business hours.
    • Occasional travel may be required.
