Job Title: Fleet Manager
Pay Grade: H
Job Summary:
We are specifically considering current DBHDD employees for this role presently.
The Fleet Manager at DBHDD is responsible for overseeing vehicle usage data, fuel transactions, costs, individual assignment, total cost of ownership, and repairs. They also conduct audits on overdue maintenance, vehicle inventory, missing data, and utilization per mile. The role involves educating staff on industry best practices, driver policies, and state systems usage while ensuring that taxpayer funds allocated to vehicles are managed efficiently.
Coordinates with Fleet Coordinator(s) for effective equipment management, acquisition, transfer, and disposal of motor vehicles. Also maintains accountability of vehicles and oversees the fuel allocation program. Responsible for maintaining preventive maintenance records, vehicle condition reports, vehicle operating expenses evaluation, and preparing vehicle replacements.
Handles oversight of preventive maintenance programs, service, and repairs for DBHDD's fleet of passenger vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment. Provides budget recommendations, planning input, and policy suggestions. Participates in long-range planning, capital outlay, improvement projects, and annual departmental budget preparations. Additionally, involved in hiring, training, and disciplinary actions, safety enforcement, and record maintenance.

Requirements: High School diploma/GED and five (5) years of transportation job-related experience, including at least two (2) years in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or an Associate's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of transportation job-related experience, including at least two (2) years in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or three (3) years of experience at the lower level Fleet Ops Spec 4 (TRP032) or equivalent position.
