- High school or equivalent required. Associates of Arts degree in Health Information preferred. Medical terminology coursework preferred.
- Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or eligible to sit for t'he exam preferred.
- Six months prior medical record experience required.
- Critical thinking skills are a requirement of this position. Computer proficiency is required including knowledge of Word and Excel. Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills including the ability to communicate effectively across a wide range of audiences. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsible for providing Health Information Management support to providers, staff, and patients. Responsible for analyzing and monitoring discharged patient records to ensure timely completion of medical record documentation. Responsible for monitoring account work queues to support timely Coding and Billing. Works closely with the Medical Staff office to ensure accuracy with provider administration. Performs quality control and audits for the electronic health record (EHR). Produces hospital and HIM statistics. Supports transcription access, training and processing.
